New Harris Poll – Tory Lead Up to 5%

There is a new Harris poll reported in tomorrow’s Daily Mail which shows the Conservatives getting a boost following last night’s leaders debate. The Lib Dems are down a point:

                                                                        Conservative              34% (up 3%)

                                                                        Lib Dem                      29% (down 1%)

                                                                        Labour                       26% (no change)

As I have suggested before, I think the Lib Dems have now peaked and will begin to drift back downwards. They will be happy to be in second place still in this poll but they are only a nose ahead of Labour. The fieldwork was conducted yesterday and today, so this is a very up to date poll.
