New ComRes Poll – Tories 8% Ahead of Labour
There is a new ComRes poll for tomorrow’s Independent and tonight’s ITV News which shows the Conservative lead trimmed back slightly to 8%:
Conservative 37% (down 1%)
Labour 29% (up 1%)
Lib Dem 26% (up 1%)
All polls should be treated with some caution until the possible “Bank Holiday effect” is past. However, Conservatives will be pleased to be 8% ahead of Labour, with all changes within the margin of error.
ComRes asked a further series of questions which suggest that Nick Clegg’s “surge” is well and truly on the wane:
“He deserves a chance to run the country after the election”
