Final Campaign Ipsos MORI Poll – Tories 7% Ahead of Labour
The final Ipsos MORI poll has been published in the London Evening Standard showing the Conservatives 7% ahead of Labour and the Lib Dems in third place:
Conservative 36% (no change)
Labour 29% (down 1%)
Lib Dem 27% (up 4%)
This final MORI poll of the campaign has fallen into line with most of the other major pollsters who published their findings last night. MORI previously had a Lib Dem rating considerably lower than other pollsters and this brings it into line.
All the polls are now showing roughly the same picture and there are none of the surprises that I had expected. Now we have to wait and see if the actual result delivers any surprises!
Vote Today – Vote Conservative
Today is the day many people have been waiting for, for such a long time. It is the day that we can put an end to 13 years of hard Labour and elect a Government that will get to grips with our problems and stop us going the same way as Greece.
Gordon Brown is our worst Prime Minister ever and that is just what one of his own candidates thinks of him. This campaign has been revealing. From the momentary slipping of the mask over Mrs Duffy to the outright lies
that Labour have told locally, we know that Labour are no longer fit to govern this great country of ours.
The Lib Dems are a transitory phenomena, riding the crest of a brief celebrity wave of hysteria resulting from the TV debates. They are untested nationally and their record locally is abysmal. When the chips are down they would back their fellow “party of the left” in Labour. The last time we had a coalition government the Lib Dems propped up a failing Labour Government.
By contrast David Cameron has the strength, personality and energy to lead a nation saddled with debt and a bloated public sector. He leads a team with real experience and credibility that have been tested under fire and which includes the last Conservative Chancellor who left the UK with a “golden economic legacy”. How different things are now!
Don’t let Gordon Brown limp on, propped up by his Lib Dem fellow travellers. The choice today is clear.
Vote for real change. Vote for your Conservative candidate!
