The Royal Wedding
What a fantastic day yesterday’s Royal wedding was! Over 1 million people crowded the streets of London from around the world and a reported 2 billion people watched on TV, making it the biggest TV event this century so far. Despite the efforts of a small number of grumpy republicans the magic of Monarchy was on full display and in its prime yesterday.

It was not only a beautiful wedding but also a green wedding. I found some interesting facts:
The dress is made from vegan silk and fair trade cotton
The ring is made from Welsh gold instead of minerals from an exploration mine…..
The greenest gift came without any doubt from Boris Johnson: A tandem bicycle…
The Aston looked great but indeed no biofuel….

And to top it all, Today is May Day! I got up and sang the Internationale in my garden. I was on full display and in my prime, despite the efforts of grumpy royalists.
I’ve always been proud to be British but the royal wedding on Friday ramped that feeling up no end.
We do pomp better than anyone – the Union flags flying, the blues and royals, the pure ‘Britishness’ of it reclaimed our flag and our identity from the racists – it was totally pro Britain whilst not being anti anybody.
