New YouGov Poll – Tories Maintain 1% Lead
There is a new YouGov poll out tonight for tomorrow’s Sunday Times newspaper showing the Conservatives ahead of Labour by 1%:
Conservative 40% (no change)
Labour 39% (no change)
Lib Dem 9% (no change)
This is no change from the last YouGov poll I covered but is in interesting contrast with the Ipsos MORI poll showing Labour 6% ahead.
Changes shown are compared to the last YouGov poll I covered on 28 February.

Yet again contradictory Polls, Labour up, then down then Tories have a small lead then lag. It needs some BIG issue to cause a breakthrough one way or the other. Perhaps reaction to The Budget in a few weeks will precipitate a REAL Tory or Labour Lead which then sustains for while rather than this tedious political see-saw.

This is showing what I would have expected at this time and if it is repllcated on other polls as a tend may indicate a breakaway from the trench warfare of the last few months when both of the two major parties were nip and tuck and only varied by a point or two. It will be intertesting to see if this Labour Lead sustains and follows through into the May 3rd Local Elections.
