New ICM Poll – Tory Lead Cut to 7%

There is a new ICM poll reported in tomorrow’s Sunday Telegraph which shows a fall back in the Conservative lead to 7%.  This is a partial reversal of the 3% increase in the last ICM poll:

            Conservative              38% (down 2%)

                                                  Labour                       31% (no change)

                                                  Lib Dem                      21% (up 3%)

Unlike the suspect daily YouGov polls, most other pollsters show a continuing Conservative lead of around 7%. This poll is absolutely consistent with that, although probably slightly overstating the Lib Dems.

  1. Blair used the slogan “education, education, education”
If DC wants to be PM he could do worse than adapt this to say ‘immigration, immigration, immigration’.
I suspect that poor DC is so remote from the ordinary people of this country and doesn’t realise that in order to connect he has to talk about(and form proper policies on) the subjects that really matter.
the CommonSense Party suggests that the fairest and most sensible way to tackle immigration is to limit the numbers of new arrivals to be no more than the number of people that leave the UK each year, therefore stopping the surge in population that sees England as the 3rd most densely populated country in the world and the most densely populated in Europe.
    What is DC scared of?

Howard Thomas: I can think of someone else who is far more remote than DC ( although this is just your view) and he is up for election as well ( unwillingly mind you!). Give you one clue: bunker.

As for slogans, look what happened to Education!!!.. we do not need that kind of slogans but yes more formulated policies. No doubt manifestos in the making…let’s wait and see. I can tell you veering to the right by your suggestions.

  3. Nell……talk in riddles all you want to! , but what I am saying is the truth that the Tory party seem unable to spot. Hence the narrowing of the polls and talk of a hung parliament, when the only thing that ought to be standing in the way of DC and no. 10 should be the formality of an election. But while the Tories rufuse to talk about what really concerns voters GB will still believe he has a fighting chance. If DC is holding back on proper policies until the actual election period , he is in danger of being seen to be introducing policies as a panic measure at the last minute.
By the way Nell its neither left nor right to have common sense !
