New ICM Poll – Tories Open Up a 7% Lead As Lib Dems Drop

The first poll of tonight is an ICM poll in tomorrow’s Sunday Telegraph which shows the Conservatives opening up a sizeable gap over the other two parties:

            Conservative              36% (up 3%)

                                                  Labour                       29% (up 1%)

                                                  Lib Dem                      27% (down 3%)

As well as this very good news for the Conservatives, the Sunday Telegraph has come out today strongly in support of the party and urged a strong overall Conservative majority. The Lib Dems will be desperately worried to be back in third place and with their share of the vote on the slide.
