New ComRes Poll – Labour up 2% at Lib Dem Expense

There is a new ComRes poll published tonight for tomorrow’s Independent which breaks the famine of non-YouGov polls. It confirms recent polls showing the Lib Dems down to the lowest level they have been for some time:

                                        Conservative             39% (down 1%)

                                        Labour                      33% (up 2%)

                                        Lib Dem                    16% (down 2%)

In other findings:

Now that they have joined a coalition with the Conservatives, it is difficult to know what the Liberal Democrats stand for
          Agree              73% (65% 2nd June)
          Disagree          22% (29% 2nd June)

“Britain is better off with a coalition government than it would have been if either the Conservatives or Labour had won the election outright”
          Agree              36% (45% 2nd June)
          Disagree          50% (43% 2nd June)

  1. It is somewhat amusing to note that the YouGov polls consistently have the Tories above 40% while other recent polls by ComRes, ICM, Mori and Populus all have the Tories at 40% or below. Obviously wouldn’t have anything to do with the fact that YouGov is commissioned by the Sun.
