BREAKING NEWS: Reading Labour Selects East and West Shortlists

I have just heard that the short lists for Labour’s candidates for the East and West Parliamentary seats at the next election are:

Cllr Richard Davies – newly elected Caversham ward Councillor
Angela Pober – Slough Labour Party
Cllr Matt Rodda – Katesgrove ward Councillor and former candidate for Surrey East in 2010
Cllr James Walsh – Slough Borough Councillor
Cllr Paul Woodward – Church ward Councillor

Cllr Victoria Groulef – Wycombe Councillor and Group Leader
Christine Quigley
Debbie Watson – former Minster ward Councillor

  1. It will be interesting to see who they chose. I’d go for Cllr Matt Rodda for East and Cllr Debbie Watson for West..

    • I suspect the Labour Party are not stupid enough to go for those two lemons. Debbie Watson did absolutely nothing for 4 years while she was on the council.

  2. Didn’t even know Debbie Watson was a councillor? It’s interesting that all the new Councillors in East seem desperate to now become MPs. I suspect I know which one Labour will go with (I don’t think it will be Rodda),

  3. I didn’t realise that Debbie Watson had stood down. Whatever, she has been a Councillor and thus has that experience in Local Politics which to me is an advantage for a prospective MP for one of the Reading seats.

I have never been too keen about candidates parachuted in.

  4. Love to hear whether James L Walsh, SBC, has been chosen. Writing an expose on him so everything helps 🙂
